Electronics Workshop from the Textiles and Materiality Cluster is an introduction to electronics for artists. This four day workshop will explore electronics though hands on experience and encourage continued experimentation by learning how to safely reclaim electronic components and where find materials locally and online.
Each morning will be devoted to a directed workshop and afternoons will be reserved for assisted open lab sessions where participants can continue with the mornings workshop activities, discuss applications, and share their knowledge. We will discuss component function while assembling circuits from scratch, experiment with them and develop skills like soldering, circuit testing and troubleshooting. Applications for sound, soft circuits for textiles and an introduction to arduino microcontrollers will be covered in successive workshop days leading to applications for your own creative projects.
Materials for this workshop will be provided for participants at a cost of $60.
