This year marks the inauguration of Milieux’s Undergraduate Fellows program, which awards $500 and membership privileges to a group of highly motivated and talented undergraduate students.   Fellows are nominated by Milieux-affiliated faculty. Each fellow is expected to engage in a substantive research or research/creation project appropriate to a specific cluster or clusters and consistent with mandate of the Milieux Institute. 

Fellows may, or may not, pursue their project as part of a credit course or independent study (depending on permission of instructor) but their project must recognizably contribute to the strategic priorities and direction of the host cluster. Fellows will be required to report on their research, participate in the life of the home cluster and the institute, and to present their research to the community. There are numerous creative ways that this reporting can take shape, and this can be decided between the fellow and their supervisor. The opportunity to be immersed in a research setting with leading scholars, artists and graduate students across disciplines, and to participate in a sustained and substantive research or research/creation project in conversation with other researchers outside of class time represents a transformative opportunity for any student wishing to continue into graduate work.​ Appointments run from October 2nd 2017 through August 31st 2018.
