Faculty and IFRC member Skawennati has received a prestigious 2026 Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts for Artistic Achievement. As an early adopter of cyberspace and virtual environments as an artistic medium, Skawennati brings the distinct, vital perspective of an urban Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) woman to digital storytelling.
