[The Conversation] Sunlight is alive — and through play with it, artists reflect on climate change

Moe Beitiks, M. (2026, August 13). Sunlight is alive — and through play with it, artists reflect on climate change. The Conversation.

Abstract

In this article, Assistant Professor and LePARC member Moe Beitiks reflects on Halo Event, a research-creation project conducted over the summer that is part of the broader series Angles of Consequence.

Angles of Consequence explores sunlight as a material and living entity in site-specific performances across Montréal. Through collaborative artistic interventions, the project investigates human relationships with ecological forces, climate change, and Indigenous resistance to fossil fuels.
