Join TAG for the first Screening of the term!
The critical watch series is an opportunity to discuss all aspects of video game adaptation. Once a month we screen a video game film, and follow each watch with a discussion on the context, form, and content of each film.
Seating for each event is very limited, so if you wish to attend, please RSVP by sending an email directly to tag.coordinator@concordia.ca or by messaging Marc on the TAG Discord.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Street Fighter (1994) is an American martial‑arts action film directed by Steven E. de Souza and based on Capcom’s popular Street Fighter II video‑game franchise. The film stars Jean‑Claude Van Damme as Colonel William F. Guile, who leads an international force against the tyrannical warlord General M. Bison, portrayed memorably by Raul Julia in his final theatrical role. Blending large‑scale action, military spectacle, and comic‑book excess, the film takes a loose, stylized approach to the source material. Though criticized upon release, it achieved commercial success and became a cult favorite through home‑video exposure.
